Film holds up well after my second viewing. Movie should get the Oscar for best special effects because they enhance the story. Caesar was amazing. His facial expressions capture the essence of each scene. They bring the conflict too life.
My only quibble with the plot is the third act seems rushed. It's really just one long extended sequence. The apes escape, go to lab and destroy it and then face off against the police on the bridge. The film builds beautifully for the first two thirds, developing the characters emotionally. All the development ends in the final act as war has been declared.
Great film because it captures us immediately. The biggest question I have though is why are the scientists so surprised that Bright Eyes has a baby. Haven't they been monitoring her condition?
